Samdo Seoljanggo was originally a form of nongak (Pungmulnori) originating from outdoor agricultural festivals and village rituals, but through the late 20th century, it transformed into a sophisticated indoor instrumental piece (Samulnori repertoire) that showcases the maximized skills of percussionists on stage. Although it started with agricultural and shamanistic origins, it ultimately embodies the dynamism of Korean traditional rhythms and the philosophy of Yin and Yang, standing as the essence and core of modern Korean percussion art.

Yeongsanhoesang was originally a vocal piece originating from a grand Buddhist ceremony, but through the long Joseon Dynasty, it transformed into an instrumental suite (pungnyu music) for the inner cultivation of scholars. Although it started with Buddhist origins, it ultimately embodies the Confucian aesthetic of restraint and philosophy, standing as the essence and core of Korean traditional court music (Jeongak).
